Whew, I don't know about you all but over the past few years finding balance has been quite a challenge.
I challenge my 200 YTT students to tackle this thing called balance but here is the thing we didn't just tackle the physical balance but also how balance plays such a huge role in our everyday lives. You see when you truly think about balance you think about grounding, you think about being rooted down so that you can find balance.
So how do the transitions of life truly cause us to lose our balance or lose our sense of grounding?
Let's think about it....
When you truly take a step back and think about balance, we think about having to stand on one foot to stay upright. Also, holding something in your hand and trying to maintain the balance to keep it from falling out of your hand.
I equate that to our lives. How many times have you felt like you had to do so much just to keep from falling off or falling down? You felt like so many things were being thrown at you at one time and you're just trying to keep your balance. You're trying to stay upright.
What keeps you balance?
Think about standing on one foot. What do you need to do in order to stay balanced and upright? You have to get rooted and grounded in the other foot so that you're able to maintain that balance. It's the same thing with our lives. In order to truly get balanced you have to get rooted and grounded first. Often times we are trying to do multiply task or achieve multiply goals without any roots. We must first get rooted and grounded in faith, love, trust, patience, true self in order to not fall. Will there be storms that will come in your way and cause you to lose your balance? Yes, and when you're steadfast, unmovable, focused, and determined it doesn't matter what may come your way you will maintain that balanced.
How can you maintain balance?
Always come back to your roots. Always come back to what help ground you. I always come back to God where my strength lies. I come back to the bible knowing that in his word he said he would never leave me nor forsake me; he will be there until the end (Deuteronomy 31:6). That is where my roots come. Through God I know that I can find strength. Where do your roots lie? Find your roots? Find your grounding? Find where your source lies so that you can maintain your balance.
Storms may come and go but it is in our roots, in our foundation that helps us withstand any storm or test that may come in our way.
Don't lose your grounding that's how you maintain your balance.
With love,
Felicia
