Join VoNique for a weekend dedicated to making yoga more accessible. We will explore modifications for poses as well as how to support practice with props. We will delve into sequencing classes with inclusion in mind and provide space for practice to build confidence speaking and teaching to difference.

The Sattva Meditation Initiation Weekend course is a comprehensive, step by step sacred process for individuals who desire a personal, daily meditation practice to transform their life. Throughout the weekend, you will have experience with the technique and underlying principles to become self-sufficient by the end of the course. You will leave the weekend with the tools, techniques, and personal mantra to become a daily meditator.

Meditation has numerous proven physical, mental and emotional health benefits. Meditation decreases stress, anxiety, depression and loneliness and increases happiness, focus, clarity, creativity and improves memory. With a dedicated practice, meditation can create life changing shifts in your life.

Sattva Meditation is a Kriya and mantra-based meditation technique stemming from the Himalayan You-Vedantic tradition. This is a comprehensive, simple, and effective technique which consists of breath work, kriya, and mantra. When practiced 20-30 minutes daily this technique can benefit all aspects of one’s life.
Sattva meditation will serve you if you are ready to take the next step in your evolution. This practice is designed for all sincere seekers. No one with sincere inquiry will be turned away. This weekend is designed for beginners, occasional meditators and those looking to refine their meditation to initiate you in establishing a deep, personal meditation practice.

We will explore the gentle power of sound, how to lead group sound bathing meditations, how to choose and play sacred instruments, how to get to know and care for your instruments and finding your unique sound.

We will deepen our practice, learn how the medicine travels, and how to infuse the frequency with healing intent to heal the body by guiding it back to its resonant frequency.
Level 2 will cover 1:1 healing and group healing ceremonies.

SOUND HEALING IMMERSION
One of the great links between the conscious and unconscious - and between human beings, cultures, and even particles in our universe - is the power of vibration and sound.
This training is for everyone - massage therapists, yoga teachers, health care workers, therapists, energy healers, and anyone with a desire to honor the sacred medicine of sound. Sound is a gentle powerful medicine we will explore, feel and share.
Sound healing is an ancient gentle healing technique that uses tonal frequencies to bring the body into a state of vibrational balance and harmony, a return to your resonant frequency. The sound frequencies from sacred instruments slow down brain waves to a deeply restorative state, which activates the body's system of self-healing.

PART ONE:
Practicing & Preparing to Teach Kundalini Yoga

Why do this training? The majority of what you learn and process in Kundalini Yoga is simply in your relationship through the physicality of practicing it. Then your practice flowers into something personal and intimate. It is from this space where the desire to share it opens.
Within this condensed 8.5 hours:
* Setting the space.
* Choosing a Kundalini Yoga kriya.
* Mechanics of practice (tuning in, timing, beginning & ending exercises, sealing the practice).
* Attracting possibilities to share the practice.
* Saturday's date is lecture and yoga training; Sunday is direct implementation of practicing teaching in Okra's regularly scheduled evening Kundalini classes.
PART TWO:
Crafting Your Perfect Kundalini Class

Sunday, October 29th, 2023 (6:00-8:30 pm)
Since Kundalini Yoga is experiential (you learn through your experience of it) and and is known to be an oral tradition (teachings are passed by word-of-mouth rather than through a book), it is optimally passed within the classroom, from-teacher-to-student. The impact of this "transmission" is the catalyst that bears fruit—a transmuting force that generates a seed: the future teacher.
Within this condensed 8.5 hours:
* The nectar (mood, flow, outcome).
* Structure of a solid class.
* Deliverance of teachings.
* Optimizing your body's "command centers" with Pranic Life-Force Intelligence.
* Saturday's date is lecture and yoga training; Sunday is direct implementation of practicing teaching in Okra's regularly scheduled evening Kundalini classes.
* These trainings are part of a greater modular Kundalini Training, THE PROCESS, available for Continuing Education credits with Yoga Alliance. (Please note: this training is not part of the requirements for KRI's Level One program to become a certified teacher of Kundalini Yoga, and does not provide eligibility for IKYTA membership.)

During meditation, thoughts come and go, be at peace, do not stop the thoughts or judge, just observe and witness them.

In meditation, the mind is relaxed and inwardly focused. When you meditate, you are fully awake and alert, but your mind is not focused on the external world or on the events taking place around you. Meditation welcomes an inner stillness to relax the mind. When the mind is relaxed meditation deepens and intuition heightens.
