There came a point when I realized I was missing my life while waiting for it to begin.
I was waiting to be healed first… before I dared to live.
But here’s the thing—healing doesn’t work that way.
The living is what heals you.
It’s in showing up tired, overwhelmed, uncertain and allowing yourself to experience life as it is, not as you wish it to be.
It’s in saying yes to the opportunities that scare you, the conversations that feel uncomfortable, and the experiences that stretch you beyond your comfort zone.
When I stopped waiting and started showing up exactly as I was, something shifted.
I realized my anxious moments didn’t disqualify me from joy.
My uncertainty didn’t make me incapable of growth.
And my unknowns weren’t something to fear they were an open door.
Through the act of living, of fully being present in the moment, I began to heal in ways I didn’t expect.
Not because the circumstances were perfect, but because I was present enough to let them shape me.
We tell ourselves we’ll start living when we’re:
•More confident
•More healed
•More prepared
But life isn’t waiting for you to check those boxes.
Sometimes, you just have to step into the room exactly as you are messy, uncertain, imperfect and trust that the living will do the work the waiting never could.
So here’s your reminder:
Stop waiting for perfect conditions.
Stop waiting to be “enough.”
Show up in the anxious.
Show up in the uncertain.
Show up in the unknown.
Because sometimes, the living is what heals you.
